2024/7/16 Workshop: Target Trial Emulation

課程簡介：Causal inference from observational data can be conceptualized as an attempt to emulate a pragmatic randomized trial—the target trial. This workshop will introduce the target trial framework, using specific examples to illustrate the principles of the target trial emulation. Through lectures and a hands-on session, participants will learn how to implement this framework and avoid common design bias when using observational data to answer a causal question.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
● Formulate well-defined causal questions.
● Emulate a target trial using observational data.
● Recognize common but avoidable biases in observational analyses, including confounding, selection bias, and immortal time bias.
